The History of Lancaster Central Market
Lancaster Central Market first opened in 1730, when the town’s founders designated a 120-foot lot in the center of the town. It once served as an open market in which local farmers and vendors could sell their goods. Many feel that the town of Lancaster would not have been as successful without the Lancaster Central Market. Today, after over 275 years, the market still stands as a place where locals can sell their goods.
