For many years, we drove past the Smithton, always admiring the well maintained gardens with their beautiful flowers, and the peaceful appearance of the Inn itself. We recently had the opportunity to see inside and meet the owners, Allan Smith & Dorothy Graybill.  We would like to  share a few of our observations from the time we were asked to create an Internet presence for them.
       Allan is a true genius.  The work which he has accomplished over the course of twenty years cannot be adequately portrayed in any publication. We are amazed at his dedication and determination.  He renovated this very old inn by hand, and the results are precise and perfect in every way.  The meticulous details can only be experienced by spending some time at the Inn.  Allan also worked numerous hours designing this web site.  In this particular instance, we have been the "applicators", more than the "designers".  All web pages are sized for printability on Netscape and it is formatted to read like a brochure.  We hope you enjoy it.
       Dorothy is a person whose presence creates an atmosphere of peace and comfort for all who are around her.  No matter what she is involved in, her top priority is always the comfort of her guests, and her desire to offer an enjoyable stay at the Inn and Lancaster County.  She is kind.  You will like her as a friend.
      Passion  for authenticity and correctness, and  Love  for natural beauty in all things, along with the simple pleasures of this world....these are what describe the essence of Allan's and Dorothy's relationship to this country inn called the "Historic Smithton Inn".
