3 Things You Need to Do During Your Lancaster, PA, Weekend Getaway

Catch a Show!

Lancaster County has fantastic theaters!  There are three who have found a way to safely operate and entertain guests.  They have social distancing measures and robust operating procedures in place for the safety of guests and staff.

The best way to start your Lancaster, PA, weekend getaway is to reserve your seats at one or all of these theaters.  Sit back and enjoy the special energy of a LIVE performance.

  • Prepare to be amazed with a magical performance at Magic & Wonder Theater.  You'll experience great showmanship and audience involvement!
  • Probably the best known theater in Lancaster County is Sight & Sound.  Their current show, Queen Esther, is garnering rave reviews.  This is a must-see for anyone who appreciates an epic performance.
  • For dinner theater, reserve a private table at Dutch Apple Dinner Theater.   Dutch Apple is conveniently located on Centerville Road in Lancaster.

Shop at Antique Stores

Adamstown Antiquing Another great activity to enjoy during your Lancaster, PA, weekend getaway is antique shopping. It’s a shopper’s dream come true. Roam through aisles of treasures and find unique items for you and your loved ones. Building Character boasts more than 50 shops in a 10,000 square foot warehouse downtown, and A Passage In Time offers a wide selection of vintage clothing.

We recommend you include these two hubs of Antique shops during your trip.

  • Adamstown is located in Northern Lancaster County and is home to the largest concentration of antique shops in the area.  When an area is also known as "Antiques Capital USA", you know it's going to be good!
  • Columbia is another up-and-coming antiquing hub with three large antique malls and additional small shops in the area.  We suggest you start at Burning Bridge Antiques and explore the rest of the area from there.
