The shows are hot, but the venues are cool. It’s the perfect combination for summer theater lovers! While visiting our area, check out the array of live performances you can catch at some of our favorite performing arts centers.

Sight & Sound Theatres – With awe-inspiring productions that bring the Bible to life, Sight & Sound has become a favorite destination for people of all religious backgrounds. I know you’ll enjoy the breathtaking venues (just a 20 min drive from us!) and captivating shows – most even feature live animals which are always a hit with the kids! And consider taking a “Behind the Scenes Tour” to discover how they make the magic happen.

Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre – Less than 20 miles from the Historic Smithton Inn, you’ll find a theater that offers both food and fun in a relaxed setting. Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre is known for its entertaining musicals that don’t miss a beat. Catch dinner and a show, or you can opt to attend only the theater performances.

Rainbow Dinner Theatre – That’s right folks – we have TWO dinner theaters within a short 30-minute drive from our B&B! Rainbow Dinner Theater offers “all comedy…all the time” and dishes up a delightful dining experience with lots of laughs.

Hershey Theatre – An easy 40-mile drive west on Rte. 322 from the Historic Smithton Inn, you’ll find the gorgeous Hershey Theatre. The theater hosts all types of shows including Broadway performances, concerts, and classic films from days gone by.

American Music Theatre – Love live music? AMT has the largest line up of live musical performances in Lancaster County. You can enjoy various comedy and specialty performances there, too. There’s no such thing as a bad seat at AMT! Catch one of their own original shows or one featuring stars on tour from musical genres that range from Rock to Country and Classical to Big Band. Oh, did I mention AMT is less than 20 min away from the Historic Smithton Inn?
