OPEN Weekends Only, including Sundays
Located inside the landmark Historic Smithton Inn B&B in Ephrata, Weathered Vineyards Ephrata is a cozy Wine Bar & Restaurant that also hosts live music YEAR ROUND. The wines tend to be varietals found in the Bordeaux-Burgundy region of France and are predominately dry or semi-sweet, although there are 1-2 solidly sweet wines available at any given time. Weathered Vineyard’s slogan is, “We’ll change the way you think about Pennsylvania Wines”. They even serve wine slushies! The food menu is “Mediterranean Bistro”.

In case you’re wondering, “Does this vineyard actually have a “grand view”?” the answer is, YES, it sure does! In addition to amazing wine, they have a wonderful deck that overlooks their grape vines and rolling hills & farmland. They often have live music on weekends, too. Their wines span the spectrum of sweet to dry. If you want to combine wine tasting with sweeping views of Lancaster County farmland, this is a wonderful place to visit.
Located in Bainbridge, the Nissley Winery offers plenty to do. Spend the day enjoying a tour and browsing the wine shop and end it with a beautiful picnic. You can also enjoy lawn concerts on select summer evenings. The wines at Nissley tend to be on the sweet side, but the 2nd generation of owners is starting to grow some dry varietals.
1945 Fruitville Pike, Lancaster, PA | www.thornhillvineyards.com
Set in a shopping center on Fruitville Pike in Lancaster, the look of the building on the outside might lead you to the wrong conclusions about the wines you’ll find inside. This tasting shop is owned by a couple who have a vineyard in California, so unlike the other craft wineries on this list, these are Napa Valley wines! The price of wine tastings and bottles is quite a bit higher than the other Lancaster County wineries, but fans of Thorn Hill will tell you it’s worth it. We highly recommend you discover the answer for yourself!
1599 Old Line Rd Manheim, PA | www.waltzvineyards.com
Waltz Vineyards in Manheim is an absolutely wonderful winery and a MUST-VISIT for any Lancaster County wine tour. The tasting room is cozy and well staffed with a team who really know the wines and the process involved in making them. They have two lines of wines, one is there Estate Wines, made from grapes grown on the property. The other is their Cellar 1599 wines, made from grapes sourced in top grape growing regions across the U.S. The vineyards also offers live outdoor entertainment on select dates, for a fun afternoon of wine drinking on a picnic blanket.
