POST-COVID – 19 OPERATIONS

Our focus is on the health and safety of our Guests and Staff

Our door is OPEN by Reservation

Covid-19 supplies

We at the Historic Smithton Inn are excited to carefully and cautiously move forward and begin accepting guests again.  We know that in these stressful times, the need is greater than ever for guests to have a peaceful and beautiful place you can escape to.  Lancaster County is a wonderful, wide open, natural destination, and the Historic Smithton Inn is an oasis for our guests, with comfortable rooms, delicious food and beautiful outdoor spaces.

As we reopen our doors to guests once again, we want to let you know that safety is our No.1 concern.  As such, we want to share with you how we plan on taking care of you, but understand, this is a work in progress and some details may change. Please check back here often!

May 18, 2020, for now:

  • We will only book rooms with a wait period of 48 hours between guests until further notice.
  • We will require a two night minimum stay during this time.
  • If you don’t feel well or run a temperature, please stay home. Our cancelation policy is flexible now, we will work with you.
  • Our employees will stay home and quarantine if they don’t feel well or run a temperature.
  • We will utilize our self check-in and check-out system for all guests. We will always be available by phone.
    • All keys will be sterilized before you arrive and placed in a plastic bag.
    • There is a hand sanitizer dispenser on the front desk.
  • All Smithton Inn staff will be wearing face masks and social distancing while on-site and in their personal lives as well.
  • We ask that you wear masks in our public spaces and observe a 6′ social distance with your fellow guests and our innkeepers and staff.  The only exception will be guests with a medical reason for being unable to wear a mask.  If this applies to you, please let us know.
  • Daily in-room housekeeping has been suspended for now, but we will deliver fresh towels or any other room supplies you need, on request.
    • Also note, bedrooms have been simplified.  Quilts, pillow shams, reading materials have been removed.
  • We will serve breakfast between 8 – 10 am with guests spaced apart in either the dining room or wine bar.
  • For those who prefer not to join us for our full breakfast in the dining room, we can deliver a continental style breakfast (yogurt, sweet bread, fruit, granola) by prior arrangement.
  • Our property provides abundant space for social distancing when outside.  We hope you’ll enjoy our front porch rockers, courtyard, back patio and back fire pit.
  • We have always prided ourselves on a spotlessly clean inn. No changes there. However, we are doubling down and will be vigilantly disinfecting all surfaces in the guest rooms before check-in. The surfaces in the public rooms will be disinfected regularly during the day. The 2 days of no occupancy between guests is an additional safety measure.
    • We will lock each guest room after cleaning and sterilization

What will never change is our commitment to making your stay special and memorable.

We look forward to seeing you soon,

Rebecca & Dave Gallagher
